Cookies & storage policy
Last updated 12 October 2026. Raven Quay sets no cookies at all — no tracking, advertising or analytics cookies, and no third-party scripts. It uses your browser's own storage for a short list of items, all of them listed below.
What “storage” means here
Local storage and session storage are small areas of your browser that a website can read and write. Unlike cookies, they are not sent to our server with each request. The UK's Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations treat them like cookies, so we ask before using any that are not strictly necessary.
Demo mode stores nothing
If you play without an account, nothing about your play is stored anywhere: demo credits live in the open tab's memory and are gone when you reload. Only the age answer and your storage choice are remembered.
Every item we use
| Name | Where | Type | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|---|
rq.aboard | Local storage | Necessary | Remembers that you confirmed you are 18 or over, so the age check is not shown on every page. | Until you clear it |
rq.consent | Local storage | Necessary | Remembers your choice in the storage notice. | Until you clear it |
rq.crew | Local storage | Necessary (members) | The accounts created in this browser: email, crew name, date of birth, settings and salted password hashes. | Until you delete the account |
rq.hold.<id> | Local storage | Necessary (members) | A member's play data: feathers, level, history, favourites, Lamp Room progress. | Until you delete the account |
rq.session | Session or local storage | Necessary (members) | Keeps you signed in — for this visit, or until you sign out if you chose “Keep me signed in”. | Visit, or until sign-out |
rq.tries | Local storage | Necessary | Counts wrong sign-in attempts to pause signing in after five. | Up to 10 minutes after the last attempt |
rq.play | Session storage | Necessary (members) | Time and totals of the current visit, for play reminders. | Until the tab is closed |
rq.prefs.lobby | Local storage | Optional | Your lobby sort order and mood filters. | Until you clear it or withdraw consent |
rq.prefs.search | Local storage | Optional | Your most recent game search. | Until you clear it or withdraw consent |
Changing your choice
Use (also at the bottom of every page) to accept or reject the optional items. Rejecting removes them straight away. Necessary items cannot be switched off, because the site cannot work without them; you can still remove everything by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Server logs
Our hosting keeps standard request logs for security, as described in the Privacy notice. These are not cookies and are not used for tracking.
