Privacy notice

Last updated 12 October 2026. Raven Quay is built to need as little personal data as possible: your account lives in your own browser, and we run no analytics, advertising cookies or tracking.

1. Who is responsible

The data controller for ravenquay.co.uk is Monteiro Digital Agency, Unipessoal Lda., registered in Portugal with NIPC 517638029, registered office Rua da Fonte 114, 4410-063 Serzedo, Portugal. For anything about your data, write to privacy@ravenquay.co.uk. This notice explains what data is involved when you use the site and what you can do about it, as required by the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. Data kept in your browser

When you join, your email address, crew name, date of birth, reminder setting and salted password and recovery-code hashes are saved in your browser's local storage on your device, together with your play data (balance, level, round history, favourites and Lamp Room progress). This information is not sent to us. You can see it in My cabin, download it as a file, or delete it at any time; clearing your browser's site data also removes it. The exact storage items are listed on the Cookies & storage page.

3. What our server sees

Like any website, our hosting receives standard technical information when your browser requests a page: your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user-agent string. This is used only to deliver the site, keep it secure and investigate faults, and is kept in short-lived server logs. We do not use it to profile you and we serve the same pages to everyone.

4. The contact form and email

If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, the topic you chose and your message. To stop abuse, the form also stores a one-way hash of your IP address for one hour to count how many messages were sent. We use your message only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.

5. Why we use data, and the legal basis

  • Delivering and securing the website — our legitimate interests in running a safe service.
  • Answering your messages — our legitimate interests, or steps you ask us to take.
  • Age and residence checks at sign-up — legitimate interests and our commitment that the site is used only by adults in the UK. This check happens in your browser.

We do not use your data for marketing, we do not sell it, and we do not make automated decisions about you.

6. How long we keep it

Server logs are kept for up to 30 days. Contact messages are kept for up to 12 months after the conversation ends, then deleted. Rate-limit hashes are kept for one hour. Data in your browser stays until you delete it.

7. Who else sees it

Our hosting provider processes server data on our behalf under a written agreement. Our team works from Portugal; the United Kingdom recognises the European Economic Area as providing adequate protection for personal data, so data handled there keeps the same protection. We share data with others only if the law requires it. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, social media plug-ins or external fonts.

8. Children

Raven Quay is not for anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to data portability. Most of these you can do yourself in My cabin, because your account data is on your device. For data we hold (server logs and messages), write to privacy@ravenquay.co.uk; we will reply within one month.

10. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
