Levels & ranks
Crew Ranks
Every round you play earns experience, whether the reels are kind or not. Experience lifts your level, every new level drops a few feathers in your purse, and levels move you up through five crew ranks.
-
Deckhand
Everyone starts here. Learn the moorings, try the games in demo or for feathers, and find the ones you like.
-
Rigger
You know your way around the quay. Lamp Room feathers come with a 5% boost.
-
Bosun
A familiar face at the moorings. Lamp Room feathers come with a 10% boost.
-
Navigator
You have charted most of the piers. Lamp Room feathers come with a 15% boost.
-
Harbourmaster
The top rank on the quay. Lamp Room feathers come with a 20% boost.
How experience works
Each round earns one point of experience for every ten feathers staked, and at least one point however small the stake. Going from level n to the next level takes 300 + 150 × n points, so the early levels come quickly and the later ones take a while. Reaching a new level adds 250 feathers for every level number, up to 5,000 feathers at a time.
The rank boost applies to Lens Wheel turns, Crate Drop crates, Tide Gauge marks and errands. It never applies to the games themselves: the paytables, the odds and the results are exactly the same for a Deckhand and a Harbourmaster, and for members and guests in demo mode.
Ranks are for fun and carry no value. There is no ranking table of players, nothing to be won by climbing and no reason to play longer than you want to. If you would like a nudge after a set time, turn on play reminders in your cabin.
