Try any game before you join: how demo mode works
You do not need an account to see what a game is like. Open any game and you are playing straight away with practice credits.
When you arrive without an account, every game opens in demo mode. Your purse in the top bar reads “Demo” and holds 20,000 practice credits. They live only in the open tab: nothing is written to your browser, and closing or reloading the page starts you again from 20,000.
What is different for members
A free account keeps feathers, levels, crew rank, favourites and your recent games between visits on the same device. It also opens the Lamp Room, the Tide Gauge and errands. Joining takes about a minute: an email address, a crew name, a password and your date of birth, because Raven Quay is for adults aged 18 and over in the United Kingdom.
Running low in demo
If your practice credits drop below the smallest stake, they quietly top back up and a short note tells you so. There is nothing to buy and no reason to hurry — demo mode is there so you can decide whether a game is for you.
Demo play follows exactly the same rules and maths as member play. The only difference is that nothing is saved.
